The Most Powerful Practice · One-Hour Course
An hour-long course, in six short segments, that turns “be kinder, be more present” from a thing you believe into a thing you actually do. Built for a real week, not a free weekend you don't actually have.
One payment. Yours to keep. Six video segments, an audio version, and the printable Practice Companion.

If you have tried the retreats, the apps, the books, and the classes, you already know the pattern: the weekend on the mountain where you feel everything, the drive home, and within days you are the same person you were before, plus a little more disappointed in yourself. Without active support and a clear integration path that fits within your existing days, there never was a chance these things would stick.
Take comfort that this is not a character flaw or something you did wrong. It’s just how most of these wellness systems are built. That feeling was never going to hold, because a life isn’t changed by a revelation or insight. It is changed by the small things you consistently repeat that ground your revelation or insight, anchored inside the days you are already living, and usually this kind of integration work requires a knowledgeable guide.
So the ache for deeper connection is still there, the one that shows up even when you’re surrounded by people, and the gap between the kind, present person you intend to be and the rushed or hangry one who actually made it through a challenging Tuesday persists.
You don’t need another mountain. You need a clear path within your existing day, and we can provide that path.
Connection is not something you have or don’t have. It is a skill, and skills can be built, practiced, and strengthened.
And kindness is a practice, not a personality. You don't have to already be a warmer person to live like one. You get better at it the way you get better at anything, by doing it, even when your attempts go badly, and when you return to it on purpose, again and again. The day you are already in is amazingly full of the exact moments where that skill can be built: the checkout line, the left-turn lane, the neighbor you have never met.
What the hour teaches
Six skills, one short segment each, designed to be digested easily and integrated within your day. They go inward to outward, because you cannot greet what you have not noticed, and you cannot repair until kindness is steady on easy ground.
See the people you would usually move right past. Attention is the rarest kind of generosity, and most people have gone a long time without receiving it.
The small, real hello to a weak tie. The barista, the neighbor, the person you sort of know. The research on this is almost funny, in that it's so simple it's easy to overlook, yet it works so reliably.
One conversation with the phone all the way down. All of you in the room, fully present, listening the way you would want to be listened to.
One kindness with no expectation of return. Hold the door all the way. Say the true thing and keep walking before they can hand it back.
Take the one move that actually landed for you and make it a tiny, anchored, daily practice. This is where the course stops being something you watched and something you become.
The small move back toward warmth after you have been short with someone. Because you will be. We all are. The grace is in how we return.
Why it’s built small
Most courses fail because they ask for more time than your real life has.
So this one is built the opposite way. Six pieces that are intentionally less than ten minutes each, with each segment complete on its own. Watch one over your coffee and the next one three or four days later, and you will not have lost the thread because it’s woven throughout your existing days.
That isn't us cutting corners. It is our whole philosophy. A realistic practice has to fit practically inside our typical day that is full of all the things we always have to do, or it is simply not a practice. It is a fantasy we'll feel guilty about, and none of us need more of that.

The honest part
I’ll be straight with you about the limits, because that’s the deal we have here.
There is real science under this. Richard Davidson spent decades at the University of Wisconsin-Madison showing that well-being and kindness are trainable skills, not fixed traits, and that learning them is, in his words, no different than learning to play the cello. You get better by practicing and worse by stopping. Gillian Sandstrom and Elizabeth Dunn studied what researchers call weak ties and found that the small hello to a near-stranger reliably lifts your sense of belonging, and that we badly overestimate how awkwardly it will go. BJ Fogg spent years showing that habits stick when they are tiny and anchored to something you already do, not when you want them badly enough.
And the honest caveat, which I'll hold in plain sight: the research is real, though it is modest. Nobody is promising you a transformed life by Friday. But when you put all of these things together, what this promises is that small things, repeated, actually change you over time. It comes from the reps, not from a revelation. A weekend will not do it. An ongoing bite-sized practice will.
This is for you if
This is not for you if
There is no shame in any of that. It is just not what this is.

Who is teaching this
Hi, I’m Eric.
I run a University where I’m also enrolled as a student. I miss taking the mindful breath that gives me a moment of choice in the intensity of my days just like everyone else, and part of this practice is learning to say so without judgement and then the willingness to simply try again. I am not going to pretend enlightenment or claim I have definitive answers or try and sell you a destination. All of this was born because I too was frustrated with most everything I was being offered and just wanted something that actually fit within my day. I’m pretty allergic to most spiritual jargon and wellness industry posturing, so I promise I will never put anything like that forward.
I have spent my career being invited into just about every kind of social setting there is, from inner city block parties to exclusive country clubs and gated estates, and I've found that the one thing that consistently warms any room is the same across the board ~ simple kindness. This work is translating that experience into a repeatable, accessible practice, available to anyone that yearns for meaning and genuine connection within the life you are already leading. Nothing here is hype or posturing, just grounded and proven guidance so that you can experience creating connection and having more meaningful moments yourself.
I built this because the life I kept trying to get to turned out to be the one I was already living. I learned I only needed to look at my day slightly differently to see that the opportunities to practice connection and meaning were already seeded everywhere throughout my day. I sincerely believe you can do this too, and it’s why I’ve taken the time to turn this into a course. Having the right guidance is usually all it takes to find a solid path, and is something I wish I had much earlier in my life.
From one neighbor to another, even though we've never met, I can confidently say you’ve got this if you’re willing to give it an honest go.
A plain promise & Our Guarantee
Do the practice for two weeks. Keep your one line a day in the practice companion. If it genuinely does nothing for you, write me and I will refund you, no hoops to jump through and no hard feelings. I would rather you spend the $29 on something that actually helps than keep a dollar of it if this wasn't the thing that made an actual difference for you. But I will ask you this ~ please don’t sign up for the course if you don’t intend to give it an honest go. Because in my experience, if you are genuinely willing to try, it’s virtually impossible to not experience the benefits of this approach. Capiche?
The day you are in is not in the way. It is the way.
Give it an hour, spread out in six small pieces over the course of the next couple weeks, and start meeting your day a little more purposefully than you did yesterday. That’s all it takes to be the change.

Be Kind. See What Happens.
Our name “The University of Every Waking Day” is being presented and used solely in the spirit of the idea that when we interact with our existing day as our primary context for personal evolution, we maximize opportunities for mindfulness, learning, and growth. We are NOT presenting or putting forth material under the guise of being an accredited learning institution in any jurisdiction. In all transparency, we simply like the name and how it creates an invitation to reframe the nature of how we can interact with every single day as a series of moments for personal practice.
